It seems McNeel will fix this issue in Rhino 7. They told me there is a bug in Rhino that is the reason of the issues between VisualARQ and Enscape. I've already talked to Enscape regarding this issue. If two naked mesh edge points of a selected mesh are coincident, and their neighboring faces are within the angle tolerance of each other, they will be replaced by a single mesh point. Steps: Type the maximum angle between mesh polygon normals where welding of points should occur. If you explode all VisualARQ objects before updating the model in Enscape, it should be rendered correctly. Weld Removes texture mapping coordinate information from each shared mesh vertex. Renders should get meshes for the VisualARQ object using RDK, and if RDK is providing meshes for the block, then do not try to render the block contents. Only the meshes provided but the VisualARQ object (the column) have correct UV mapping. As VisualARQ objects share geometry between several instances (for example, two columns with the same profile, will use the same block definition), objects inside the block do not have correct UV texture coordinates. If a plug-in sees a VisualARQ object as a simple block, it will just render the objects that are inside the block. Wrong texture coordinates: The second reason is that VisualARQ objects are Rhino blocks (with asteroids).Meshes can be much coarser in their accuracy than nurbs geometry and this will lead to all sorts of rounding errors when the meshes are either very big, very small, or very far away. I guess that some of the real-time renders do not use RDK. Running the Contour component on this mesh in Rhino WIP gives a result, although I would recommend moving your geometry closer to the world origin point (0,0,0). Then, Rhino provides another SDK, called RDK (Render Development Kit), to query not only the meshes (with their UV mapping) but also the materials for each mesh. Rhino SDK allows plug-ins to query the object meshes, with its correct UV texture coordinates applied, but materials for each mesh cannot be queried, so all meshes will be rendered using the object render material. Wrong materials: VisualARQ objects contains several meshes, with different UV mappings and materials. However, one option may be to use the MeshToNurbs command within rhino. The beta of version 4 has a few more tools for meshes (boolean operations) but still they are not up to the level of other software. VisualARQ seems to have problems with real-time renders, like Enscape, Octane, V-Ray Interactive, and even Rhino Raytraced display mode. As was stated above, Rhino is primarily a nurbs modeler and it just doesnt make much sense to do heavy modelling in meshes in rhino. There are no limits on complexity, degree, or size beyond those of your. Rhinoceros can create, edit, analyze, document, render, animate, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids, point clouds, and polygon meshes.
